The Book of Lif

A chronicle of mostly visual imaginings

This is my graduation film from a couple years ago. I had so much drive on this project, but doing this all myself was a lot of work! Still, the feeling of having created something outweighs the sleepyness.

I drew a picture. It’s been a while! A taste of things to come or the freehand drawing of a pending lunatic?

Here’s the completed run cycle sprite for Illia :) coming along nicely! I made the sprites quite massive, though, so I’m not sure how this will translate… but despite the size, I managed to keep the pixellated look.

Here’s the (almost) final design for Illia, heroine and protagonist of “Heart of Lif” (working title)… I’m new to pixel work and sprite design, so it’s interesting for me to get in and start animating this. I like the traditional look of pixellated sprites, and these days we have such a large palette to choose from that I can really have fun with the colour design of the whole piece.

Sorry for the long delay in updates :) here’s what I did today! Incidental screen shows for use in backgrounds, or just a slightly mad man realizing his innermost desires through the MAGIC OF ANIMATION!?

What’s wrong with me?
